Playing the Game

Do you remember the kids game ‘Sardines’? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sardines_(game) I’m referring to the hide and seek version rather than the knick-knocking version (do people actually do that? I for one hadn’t even heard of that before. It seems like some new twist on ‘Planking’ as if that wasn’t new enough ‘Plank-Chicken’ maybe)…..
Well, we’re starting to feel a bit like the original sardines. We’re not the most obvious of places, we haven’t been screaming out via full page ads or anything of the like for people to come, yet still on a daily basis more and more people are finding out where we are, who we are and are deciding to hide with us.
No one can stay hidden forever and we wouldn’t want to be but we have appreciated the gradual build in business over time. We’ve been able to find our feet so to speak and bring new staff up to speed gradually rather than throwing them straight into the deep end. All that is over now. We’ve adopted the ‘sink or swim’ mentality. It’s time to make it happen. Now we’re keen to find out how many more gears we’ve got to change up to. How many more can fit? The possibilities are endless.
Now, I don’t know about you guys but I often hit a lull right after the lunch break around 2pm and need a quick caffeine boost to get me through the rest of the day. The best part is the lines for coffee are shortest at this time of day & I’m back into it and primed for action quick as a flash.
We may have gained a whole bunch of new friends and regular customers but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to play the game anymore. In fact we’ve got room to spare. We’d love you all to tell all your friends how much you love Black Betty so they can enjoy it too.
One thing to remember…… the game isn’t over until mum calls you into to wash up for dinner…..and then there’s always tomorrow.
